Some days, you just can't get your shit together, so you listen to Depeche Mode and mope.
Before we get to all that, quick Marlon update, for those of you who read this for that: Dan called me today. Sounds like the score/soundtrack is headed into the last stages of mixing. He's going to email me some rough mixes in the next few days. As soon as I have those songs, I'll do a video for the homepage, with some teasers from the soundtrack, so everyone can hear what Marlon's going to sound like (spoilers: it sounds like heavy-as-fuck metal music). In other Marlon news, Dan has successfully imported the entire film into Logic Pro and built all the sessions for the final audio mixing. He'll be doing each chapter of the film as a separate thing. I've got my recording gear all dusted off and ready to venture out to get foley. (Although I seem to have misplaced my DSLR, which is a bit disconcerting. How am I supposed to film all the interviews and such with no camera?)
So that's where Marlon is at.
Where I'm at is I barely slept last night, and I don't know if it's the gray day or the wet snow or forgetting lunch or what, but I'm smashed up against a big ole' writer's block right now. I was meant to be working on Superhero Comic #1 today, but it just wouldn't come.
(Instead, I burned up an hour or two checking out 8tracks.com, and discovering these, the most awesome of playlists: Technicolor Girl Gangs Forever, Songs for Scott Summers (an awesome and totally accurate playlist for moody X-man Cyclops), and Radical Queer Mutant Dance Party, which makes me want to throw one. Who wants to dress up as obscure, cool 90s X-men/Force/Caliber/&c characters? Dibs on Warlock!
Anybody?
Pretty much, I'm exhausted and need to recharge my scribbly batteries. Tomorrow's another day to stare at a blank piece of paper until drops of blood form on my forehead. (Gene Fowler, right guys? Am I right?)
(Anybody?)

P.S. - One more thing. If you're not listening to CocoRosie, you should be. More weird wonderful music. Always more.
